Sunhat raises seed funding to build something great
If good things take time then how long do great things take?
I am pleased to announce that Sunhat secures €2 million of seed funding from Capnamic, xdeck, WEPA Ventures and various experienced business angels to build our vision of request automation for sustainability teams ☀️
As some of you already know, I left my job as a senior software engineer last year to pursue a new goal: as technical co-founder of Sunhat. The last post was already a few months ago but time flies!
My transition from an individual contributor to wearing the hat for the entire technical capabilities of the Sunhat product comes with both new joys and unpredictable challenges. Software engineering is still a big part of the fun. But it is also a social activity best enjoyed with ambitious and curious colleagues striving for the solution that gets us one step closer to the goal! Sunhat is a blend of software engineers and sustainability experts from different cultures and backgrounds which is what you need to build something that people want.
It is a huge challenge to build a software company from zero to hero. There are both technical and non-technical challenges past and ahead of us. But these challenges are absolutely worth tackling as we want to create a meaningful product which attempts to solve a real pain: for sustainability practitioners who strive to make a positive difference every day!
I’m glad Lukas Vogt, Alexander Behr and I started this journey together. I remember our first meeting where we came up with an idea which evolved into what Sunhat has become today.
